A 13 x ½ hour live action sit com. Set in a strange and possibly mystical place called Barren Barren, Snake Tales is a comedy about two teenage girls trying their best to grow up normal. They live with their eccentric families, the Australian Johnson Family and the British Sailendra Family in a snake park, 300 kilometres from the nearest town. Tiger Rose Johnson (14) was raised in outback Australia.

She’s mature beyond her years, smart, hardworking and quick-witted, but knows very little about normal teenage life. She thinks the Olsen twins are those two calves born last spring on the neighbouring farm. Skye Sailendra (14), on the other hand, was raised in the bustling metropolis of London, surrounded by friends, boutique shops, and a constant stream of admirers. She’s fashionable and stylish, but knows very little about thinking or doing things for herself (That’s what boyfriends are for, right?)

A twist of fate sees these two incompatible girls living under the same roof and begrudgingly sharing a bedroom. They’re two things that just don’t belong together – like chalk and cheese, night and day, Hip Hop and strong female role models. Whenever they’re in the same room, there’s friction in the air; they’re the teenage version of the Odd Couple. Yet for all their differences, Skye and Tiger have two fundamental things in common – a burning desire to get away from the snake park and the fact they both wish they were orphans.

The series was pre-sold to network Nine Australia, and financed with the participation of Screen Australia and Film Victoria.Beyond Distribution are the Distributor.
